Making the most of summer sunsets.

Making the most of summer sunsets.

It's been a long time coming but summer has arrived and it's definitely worth the wait.

At Bar Buoy we live for these days.  The ones when temperatures are warm and the smell of sun block floats through the air.    The ones when evenings are everlasting and you don't require a jumper, even after the sun has dipped and the sky turns red.   The ones when a sunset can be enjoyed outside and you have the perfect excuse for an alfresco gathering.

Here's our top tips for making the most of a sunset this summer...
  1. Find your perfect spot.   Whether it's on the beach; in the park; high up on a balcony or even just a deckchair in your own garden, make sure you find a spot that offers both comfort, and an uninterrupted view of the sky.
  2. Invite good company.  These moments are always best shared with friends or family.
  3. Raise a glass.   A sundowner goes very well with a sunset  But remember, just because you're outside it doesn't mean you have to compromise on quality (have we mentioned we now offer premium canned cocktails that are made for sunsets?! 😆)
  4. Stay for the afterglow. The sky can often become even more colourful around 15 minutes after touchdown.  Make sure you stay until the bitter end.
  5. Relax and reflect.  Sunsets are a visual reminder of the passing of time.  Take a moment to count your blessings (not your worries) and log the moment.
  6. Respect nature.   When it's time to leave make sure you pick up all your belongings and remove any waste.  Once the daylight has gone it's tricky to spot everything!
