The Logbook: May 2026 – News from the Shore

May has been a busy one here at Bar Buoy.

From welcoming a new crew member and launching a new cocktail to travelling across the South West for events and securing some exciting new stockists, it's been one of those months that reminds us just how far this little coastal cocktail company has come.

Here's what we've been up to.

A New Face on Board

This month we welcomed Kevin Parr to the Bar Buoy crew as our first Business Development Manager.

Kevin brings more than 15 years of experience working with drinks brands across the South West and will be helping us introduce Bar Buoy to more venues, retailers and customers across the region and beyond.

His first few weeks have been packed with events, tastings and plenty of miles on the road. To celebrate the end of his first week, we headed to our favourite local spot, the River Exe Café, for a well-earned pint overlooking the water.

We're delighted to have him on board.

Out and About Across the South West

May saw us attend three fantastic events.

We kicked things off at Crabfest in Salcombe, before heading to Eat Festival Taunton and finishing the month at the Devon County Show.

One of the best parts of these events is meeting so many people face-to-face. Whether you're discovering Bar Buoy for the first time or returning to tell us about your favourite cocktail, those conversations are what keep us inspired.

A lot of cocktails were poured, plenty of stories were shared and, thankfully, the weather mostly behaved itself.

New Stockists Joining the Crew

We're always excited when new venues decide to stock Bar Buoy, and this month brought some fantastic additions.

You can now find our cocktails at:

Milpa, Totnes

The Blue Hut, Teignmouth

Lore of the Sky

Omniplex Cinemas nationwide

The partnership with Omniplex is a particularly exciting milestone for us, helping introduce Bar Buoy to cinema-goers across the UK.

Cocktail of the Month: The Mojito

Without question, the standout cocktail of May has been our brand-new Mojito.

Created in collaboration with our friends at Hattiers Rum, it's packed with fresh mint, bright lime and smooth Caribbean rum.

Since launching, the response has been incredible, and it quickly became our best-selling cocktail at the Devon County Show.

If you haven't tried one yet, we'd highly recommend adding it to your next order.

Looking Ahead to June

June is shaping up to be another exciting month.

We'll be joining Dart Farm Summer Festival from 12–14 June, where you'll find Bar Buoy cocktails available throughout the festival and in the Local Producers Tent.

Later in the month we'll be heading to BBC Gardeners' World Live at the NEC in Birmingham from 18–21 June. We'll be serving samples of our Margarita on the QVC Stage alongside the team from Ninja Slushi.

As a proudly South West business, most of our events happen close to home, so we're excited to be taking a taste of the Devon coast to visitors from across the UK.

A Coastal Recommendation

One of our favourite local adventures starts at Exmouth Marina.

Catch the ferry across to Starcross, then follow the estuary path past Powderham Castle towards Turf Locks.

It's a beautiful waterside walk with stunning views across the Exe Estuary, and the perfect excuse to spend an afternoon outdoors.

When you reach Turf Locks, find a table overlooking the water and reward yourself with a Bar Buoy cocktail.

We're not saying every walk should end this way, but this one definitely should.

Until Next Month

Thanks for following along and supporting Bar Buoy.

Whether you've met us at an event, discovered us in a new stockist, or simply enjoyed a cocktail with friends, we're grateful to have you as part of the crew.

We'll be back at the end of June with another edition of The Logbook.

Until then, enjoy the coast.
